Did you know I used to be a teacher?

You might not realize it, but there are a lot of parallels between teaching and real estate.

At first glance, you probably don’t see it, but the longer I do this work, the more I realize they share something profound: trust.

As a teacher, parents entrusted me with their greatest treasure—their children. It’s a responsibility that goes beyond academics. It’s about guiding, encouraging, and helping to shape a child’s future. It’s about earning trust, keeping it, and treating it with the care it deserves.

It’s the same with real estate. Buying or selling a home is one of the most exciting—and admittedly, sometimes scary—experiences in life. Your home is so much more than four walls and a roof. It’s where you make memories, celebrate milestones, and build your future!

To be invited into that process is an incredible honor. Just like teaching, it’s a role that demands responsibility, empathy, and a deep commitment to those I’m helping.

I don’t take that trust lightly. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a property that holds years of memories, or taking the next step in your journey, my goal is the same: to make the process as smooth, informed, and rewarding as possible.

Over the last several years, it seems to have become even more important to have a real estate professional on your side that can educate you about the process. The market is constantly changing–taking twists and turns every few months. If you don’t live in that world, it’s difficult to keep up with it all.

For instance, *putting my teacher hat on* right now we’re seeing a slight slowdown in the market, but home prices are fairly steady and we expect them to stay that way for a while. Unfortunately, the price increases we saw recently knocked some families out of the market. Not to worry, there are still a few deals available!  While these properties aren’t perfect, but with a little bit of work you’ll have a wonderful new home at an affordable price.
